When growing up, ankle bones are used as toys in many different games, when growing old, ankle bones can help tell one’s fortune. There are many customs and traditions associated with ankle bones. The artist explores these different aspects of ankle bones and their importance to Mongolian culture with his paintings, installations and videos. The unique shape of the ankle bone is rendered by the artist in various different mediums as he plays with the concept.
Although “Calendar” is S. Ganzug’s first solo exhibition, he has previously participated in several group shows at “XanaduART” gallery. Born in 1978, Ganzug has graduated from “Setgemj” College of Industrial Design in 2000.
